[Video] Peer Pressure to Smoke Marijuana

Welcome to a secret view into the world of the net-generation. I love writing to you (maybe a little too much) so enjoy, stick around and be sure to tell me what you think...and, duh, get on my email list quick! (on the right, "subscribe via email"). Or subscribe to my RSS feed.

I have gotten a lot of questions about my “Warning Signs your Teen is Doing Pot” post. I will be posting a series of articles on this topic because I know it is a hotly contested and important issue.

In this video, I just want to emphasize the idea of experimentation. Teens do pot to experiment and test their own boundaries, but they are also doing it to test their friends limits. The weed smoking culture that teens have developed (not much different from the drug culture of the 60s I would think) has its own set of labels, norms, habits and unspoken rules.

Here, I explain how pot is now, more than ever, being used as a means to bond with friends.

what about the pressure not to smoke marijuana? what about those ads that tell you if you dont smoke weed your “above the influence” isnt that the most ridiculous thing you ever heard? if you dont smoke simply because of this mind numbing propaganda then your clearly very far “under the influence”
